Part of the five star Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe is a chic brasserie which opened in 2012 under the umbrella of Chris and Jeff Galvin.

The Galvins are chef brothers whose London-based restaurants have caught the eye of the Michelin inspectors several times.

Their Edinburgh brasserie has a Michelin Bib Gourmand, indicating ‘good food at affordable prices’.

Refined brasserie

Available seven days, the offer is for two people to each have the three course seasonal menu, a glass of house wine and tea or coffee to finish.

As the name indicates, the menu changes with the seasons. This is the current menu:

Starters

Jerusalem artichoke velouté, parsnips & Crowdie

Beetroot cured salmon, grapefruit & pickled vegetables

Main courses

Dingley Dell pork fillet & cheek, celeriac, cabbage & smoked apple

Fillet of hake, salt-baked kohlrabi, curried cauliflower & lemon purée

Desserts

Plat de fromages, artisan crackers, pear & grape chutney

Yorkshire rhubarb trifle and pink Praline
