When the curtain goes down on Oliver will you pleading for ‘More, please Sir’?
Perhaps you want to sing along to Cats or bust a move like the Swan Lake ballet dancers?
Whatever your theatrical preferences, today’s Big Deal on a private dining experience at The Glasshouse Hotel is the perfect overture to your night at the theatre.
Priced per person, the Big Deal includes a 3 course set menu + glass of sparkling wine each.
Situated right next to The Playhouse, Edinburgh’s Glasshouse is a stunning, contemporary hotel which is neatly tucked behind the 160 year old façade of the Lady Glenorchy Church on Greenside place.
Most Stylish Hotel
The Glasshouse is a multi award-winning boutique hotel which has been voted Most Stylish Hotel at the Scottish Hotel Awards while Conde Nast Traveller called one of the top 50 hottest hotels in the world.
The Conde Nast journalists were perhaps swayed by the remarkable, two acre, rooftop garden at The Glasshouse.
Before, or after your meal, it’s well worth taking a peak at the breath-taking views of Edinburgh and beyond.
Available Tuesday to Saturday, for lunch or dinner, this offer is for a private dining experience for one person, with a minimum of six guests required per booking. The maximum table size is fourteen guests.
The package includes exclusive hire of the Walter Scott or Louis Stevenson room, a three course menu and glass of sparkling wine for each guest.
The menu changes daily but a typical three courses might be the pan-seared king scallops with burnt apple purée and a fennel and pear salad followed by pork loin accompanied by pork crackling dust, celeriac and black pudding pave, cider chicory and thyme jus.
To finish, dessert could be a blood orange Arctic roll with hazelnut nut soil, orange curd and chocolate milk or the kitchen’s creative take on cranachan: steamed honey and oat sponge with raspberry soup and whisky cream.
The Observatory is attracting lots of positive comment on TripAdvisor:
‘A hidden gem… The food and service were excellent… Everything was cooked exactly as we’d requested! The portions are just the right size… The cheesecake and crème brûlée were super by the way… So, the Observatory is a hidden gem in the Glasshouse, which is more than worth a visit! Try it – you won’t be disappointed!’
‘Convenient location for the theatre. Staff very nice and food exceptionally tasty. The hotel is also beautiful. Definitely come back for food.’
With vouchers valid until the 30th of September, this Big Deal would be ideal for a pre-theatre treat for family or friends.
The Playhouse curtain will lift on Billy Elliot, the Carpenters Story and several Edinburgh International Festival shows during the offer’s validity.
Of course, you don’t have to be a culture vulture to enjoy this offer.
This private dining experience at The Glasshouse would also make for a very memorable birthday or anniversary celebration, a family get-together or a great night out with friends.
