What could be better than tucking into an indulgent afternoon tea with fizz?
What about tucking into said afternoon tea in a cosy and welcoming French-style bistro in Edinburgh’s Old Town?
The surroundings are just as enticing as the sweet treats on offer with today’s Big Deal for a treat for two at the Bistro at Hotel du Vin.
Heaven on three tiers
The afternoon tea at the four star Hotel du Vin Edinburgh is heaven on three tiers.
A feast of finger sandwiches, scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream, and a selection of exquisite cakes carefully curated by the hotel’s talented chefs, your taste buds will be thanking you profusely.
Accompanying the spread is hot coffee or tea, the latter from tea experts Twinings, who offer a range of tea infusions including jasmine, mint and English breakfast.
Topping off the tea is a sparkling glass of Prosecco each (we can hear the glasses clinking merrily already).
This offer is available from 12.30pm to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, from 3rd January until 30th March, making it perfect for a Christmas gift, or a catch-up with friends after the festive period.
Cosy and classic bistro
Tucked away in the Old Town, the Bistro at Hotel du Vin is a welcoming space with restored fireplaces, reclaimed floorboards and lots of wine merchant memorabilia.
Service is polished but informal and the intimate courtyard area – complete with heaters – is well worth seeking out on milder days.
The Bistro is around a brisk ten minute walk from Waverley train station. Paid parking can be found nearby at Q Car Park.
The Bistro at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh has enjoyed rave reviews from 5pm customers. Here are a few, which we have edited for shortness:
