This Big Deal is for two people to enjoy a glass of Prosecco and a lavish three course meal from the prix fixe menu at Edinburgh’s Hotel du Vin.

It is available Monday to Saturday from 2nd January until 30th March 2019.

Robust, warming dishes

Inspired by French home-style cooking with robust earthy dishes, and slow-cooked foods, Bistro du Vin’s Gallic-influenced menu is always a treat.

The exact dishes on the prix fixe menu will change depending on the produce available. Typical starters might be the beef tartare, a classic onion soup or Provencal tart.

Hearty main courses include the slow-cooked boeuf Bourguignon, baked crepes with seasonal mushrooms or HdV’s take on bouillabaisse. A famous fish stew from the South of France, this version uses red mullet, monkfish, bream and king prawn.

Desserts like the profiteroles, tarte Tatin or cheese selection will bring your meal to an enjoyably sweet conclusion.

Extra sides, such as the pommes frites, wilted spinach and honey-roasted carrots, will be charged at £3.50.
