The airy and spacious Brasserie is part of No. 11 Brunswick Street, a gorgeous Georgian townhouse which has been thoughtfully converted into a beautiful ten bedroom hotel.
Situated in a quiet street but just a ten minute walk from Waverly Station and only five minutes from Edinburgh Playhouse, it sits on the edges of Edinburgh’s New Town.
Seating 26, the Brasserie is an elegant space boasting a pleasing mix of contemporary art and period fittings such as large sash windows and twinkling chandeliers.
4 course dinner
This tempting offer is for two people to enjoy a four course dinner (starter, main course, dessert, tea/coffee) plus a glass of house wine from the a la carte menu at the Brasserie.
Freshly made on the premises, the dishes served in the Brasserie focus on locally sourced ingredients from artisan suppliers.
The exact dishes available on the day will vary according to what’s in season but typical starters might be the slow roasted tomato and black pudding salad; the Scottish smoked mackerel pâté or the wild mushrooms served on a bed of rocket, drizzled with a balsamic and olive oil dressing.
Popular main courses include the herb-crusted rack of Scottish lamb; the venison casserole which is slow cooked in a chocolate, cranberry and pine nut marinade or the pesto-baked salmon. We also like the sound of the smoked beef salad – whisky-smoked beef served on a bed of fresh salad leaves and tomatoes.
Dessert might be bread and butter pudding, apple crumble or a traditional cranachan – whisky cream layered with toasted oats, honey and raspberries and served with homemade shortbread.
Daily blackboard specials will be charged at a supplement of £2.50 for starters/desserts and £5 for main courses.
Diners are free to buy multiple vouchers (max 3 per table) which means that this offer would be great for a dinner with friends or family. Of course, it would also be great for a romantic meal for two or a pre-theatre dinner before heading to the nearby Playhouse.
