No-one knows exactly how many people have climbed Mount Everest but educated guesstimates put the figure at around 4000. Not many from a global population of just under seven billion.
Take up today’s Big Deal with The Everest Restaurant and you can join the select band of connoisseurs who scaled the upper slopes of Indian and Nepalese cuisine.
A la carte menu
The Big Deal is for two people to each have a starter and main course from the a la carte menu at the family-run Everest Restaurant on Home Street. Included in the deal is a glass of house wine for each diner or, if you prefer, a half pint of lager or a soft drink.
Nepalese & Indian cuisine
Nepalese herbs and spices play a big part in the home-style cooking served at The Everest.
In Nepalese cuisine, the aim is to make aromatic dishes rather then ones which are simply spicy hot but, whether you like your food mild or lip-tingling, The Everest offers plenty of options.
There are supplements on seafood and thali dishes but diners are free to choose any starters or main courses from the a la carte menu.
Nepalese specialities at The Everest include the lamb or chicken Mo-Mo and Lukla lamb, a famous dish from eastern Nepal made with long slices of lamb stuffed with mince and cooked in onion, ginger, garlic, tomato and the chef’s special spices.
Of course, there is also the option of classic choices such as the bhoona, madras and korma curries.
Alternatively, if you are tempted by the tandoor then try the mixed grill: chicken kebab, lamb kebab, tandoori chicken and sheek kebab.
The Everest is very close to the Cameo and King’s Theatre and just over a five minute walk to the Traverse, Royal Lyceum and Usher Hall making this deal perfect for a pre or post show meal.
It would also make a great date night out or, go for option 2, and enjoy a night out with friends.
