Pizza definitely has dual-citizenship. Although it was invented in Italy, some of the best and most delicious ones hail from all sides of the Alps.
But it is safe to say that, up until now, pizza is normally known for the tomato passata base no matter what you put on top.
The team at Brewhemia in Edinburgh are changing that. Their Alpine-style pizza is an achingly decadent affair with a gruyere cheese and creme fraiche base. In fact, we’re thinking it would taste fabulous with fizz or beer.
Luckily, Brewhemia feels the same way, which is why it is offering an Alpine pizza for two with either Prosecco or Lowenbrau with today’s Big Deal.
Alpine pizza and drinks for two
Brewhemia is an impressive beer palace and Prosecco bar spread over two floors and several rooms.
This Big Deal is for two people to scoff a choice of Alpine pizza each from the bar snacks menu, washed down with a glass of Prosecco, schooner of Lowenbrau beer or soft drink.
Your choice of toppings will be:
— Salami, red onion and marjoram
— Steak, red peppers and mustard
— 4 cheese
— Heirloom tomatoes and pesto
The offer is available Monday to Sunday from 12pm to 8pm and you will be dining in the bar area.
Brewhemia really is a spectacular space. Yet despite its size, it also has its fair share of nooks and crannies for cosying up in.
With regular live entertainment, DJs, a novelty photo booth, tank beer, cocktails and fizz plus a selection of spaces that run from a sleek Boudoir to Highland Bothy to Beer Palace, Brewhemia has something for everyone.
Based on Market Street right next to Waverley train station, it is also about as central as you can get.
Brewhemia has bagged such consistently good customer reviews that it has earned itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. This reviewer loved their experience:
‘Faultlessly BRILLIANT. Wow! What a find! I was recently introduced to this place — just a few seconds across the street from Waverley Station. Don’t be put off by the size of this venue — it still has pockets of intimacy, and lots of different hidden places to eat and drink. It has a fantastic atmosphere and the food is simply out of this world. The new menu is sensational, and stunningly presented. Of course what makes it is the staff. Absolute professionals, delivering a first class service with a chilled out vibe. On my last visit we were looked after by Ryan. A super nice guy and a really brilliant host. Would thoroughly recommend indulging in one of their awesome cocktails before or after your meal. We will be back again…..and again…..and again….and again! You get the picture!’
