Are you a little bit Wicked? Or a gallant Annie? Or even a flamboyant Priscilla, Queen of the Desert?
Whatever your theatre tastes run to, a show is always more enjoyable after a tasty meal for two.
If you agree, then give a standing ovation to today’s Big Deal from The Terrace Restaurant at the Crowne Plaza Edinburgh, just around the corner from the Playhouse.
Georgian townhouse restaurant
The Terrace Restaurant is in the Crowne Plaza on Royal Terrace – one of Edinburgh’s finest Georgian streets.
The smart, contemporary restaurant is located on the ground floor and opens out onto the hotel’s beautiful and private terraced gardens.
Two course meal for two
Available from 5pm to 7pm, seven days a week, option one is for two people to have a two course meal from the pre-theatre menu. Option two adds on a glass of wine each.
The menu changes depending on the produce in season, but starters often include soup of the day; oak-smoked salmon & crayfish salad; haggis, neeps & tatties; and the trinity of pork – ham hock croquettes, pulled BBQ pork & slow-roasted Asian-spiced pork belly, all served with chilli jam.
Mains may include chicken tikka masala; beer-battered haddock fillet; steak, ale & mushroom pie; and wild mushroom & spinach risotto.
Got a sweet tooth? You might be in for a treat with desserts like Crabbies’ ginger pudding and the espresso crème brûlée.
The Terrace Restaurant has been picking up praise from 5pm customers:
