Winter’s well on the way out but only a madman would cast aside the mittens, muffler and mountain boots at this stage of the game.
Dream of warmer days while enjoying the sunshine flavours of Italian food with today’s Big Deal from Papavero.
Located on Howe Street in Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town, Papavero Restaurant is decked out in warm reds and yellows.
As night falls and the candles are lit, it becomes even more of an inviting space.
A la carte menu
Available for lunch or dinner, Tuesday to Sunday, today’s Big Deal is for two people to enjoy any pizza, pasta or risotto from the a la carte menu plus a glass of house wine or Prosecco for each diner.
At Papavero, the a la carte menu is packed with classic Italian pizza and pasta dishes.
The choice of nine delicious pastas on offer include a rich spaghetti Bolognese; squid ink taglione with calamari; pasta parcels with a cheese and pear filling plus spaghetti with fresh local clams and mussels sautéed in white wine, cracked pepper, garlic and parsley.
There are also nine tempting pizzas on the a la carte. Choices include the classic quattro stagioni, a spicy piccante pizza and the capo di tutti capi, topped with basil pesto, goats cheese, sun-dried tomato, black olives and chilli oil.
Alternatively, try one of the two risottos. The marinara is made with mixed seafood while the risotto alla Milanese features arborio rice cooked slowly with saffron, garden peas and Parmesan.
