All the top fashion houses, such as Armani, Prada and Dior, like to boast that they have a presence in London, New York and Paris.
Fair enough but for real glam they should consider opening in Edinburgh’s most famous port.
It is a tactic which has worked brilliantly for Guchhi of Leith. Since opening in 2010, Guchhi’s fusion of modern Indian flavours and fresh seafood has made them a smash hit on Leith’s culinary catwalk.
Today’s finger-licking Big Deal is for two people to share five tapas from the extensive menu at Guchhi.
There is also the option for up to four people to feast on ten tapas.
Chef and owner Vishant Das learned his chops in Goa before a stint with the Loch Fyne restaurants. As a result, he is a man who knows how to make the most of his mussels.
From oysters with a curry crumb to chilli butter scallops via tandoori king prawns, the menu at Guchhi is a seafood lover’s delight.
Not that everything on Guchhi’s menu came from the sea. Lamb in mint sauce, chicken pakora, garlic chilli mushrooms and black lentil daal are all tasty alternatives to the seafood on offer.
This Big Deal is available for two people or four which makes it ideal for couple to have a cosy evening out or for friends to enjoy a meal together. If you want to land a whopper of an Indian seafood meal then simply reel in today’s Big Deal with Guchhi in Leith.
At the time of writing, just over 60 people had left reviews of Guchhi on TripAdvisor. Their combined score comes to an impressive 4.5/5.
Writing in February, this is what one recent guest had to say:
‘Had an interesting and delicious meal. There are things on the menu to suit all tastes. The tapas is a good idea…. try lots of different dishes… the chilli butter scallops, Indian fish and bhaji and sagawala were all fab….. a plus is they have Kingfisher on draft! We can only say excellent.’
