The Jam House is a funky, jazz-centric venue in a plush columned building on Queen Street. In other words, it is perfect for a Gatsby-style New Year’s Eve extravaganza.

Inside, you will find a cavernous club with live musicians and a bar team who are a dab hand at mixing cocktails. Dusky purple lights and a balcony area both add to the atmosphere.

1920s costumes are not compulsory, but you are welcome to get into the spirit of things by throwing on a feather boa or spats.

‘Myself and my best two mates visited Edinburgh for our annual ‘boys trip’ and after a great day visiting pubs within Edinburgh we ended up in the Jam House and what a gem if you like live music. It was a Saturday night and the place was bouncing. £10 to get in but worth every penny. The live band were absolutely excellent playing a wide range of music from classic rock to modern day tunes. Even though it was busy it was easy to get a drink at the bar and the atmosphere was good. If you like live music, the Jam House is a must.’
