Stone-baked pizza

Located on Nicolson Street, opposite Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Tutto Matto is a fun, new restaurant serving stone-baked pizza from around the world along with a sensational range of burgers, salads and pasta.

Tricked out in a very fashionable contemporary rustic style, the split level dining room is decked with pizza shovels, wood block feature panels and up-cycled seating.

The open plan kitchen provides plenty of theatre as the chefs slide pizza into the 500 degree C ovens.

Very convenient

The deal is very straightforward.

Available seven days a week, the offer is for one person to have any starter and main course followed by the Tutto Matto 99 – one scoop of Crolla’s dairy vanilla ice cream served in a wafer cone and topped with a Cadbury’s Flake.

There are eight varieties of pizza available from different Italian regions. Alongside these are a wide selection of pizza inspired by global flavours.

The New York is topped with smashed Italian meatballs while the Peking is made with hoi sin plum pizza sauce and crispy shredded duck.

Wide choice

Other fun choices include the Berlin topped with sauerkraut, landjager sausage and Emmental cheese or the Glasgow pizza which has been described as a full Scottish breakfast on a pizza.

The latter is recommended for anyone seeking a little comfort the morning after the night before.

Add in seven different Simon Howie burgers plus a great range of pasta – try the seafood spaghetti – and it’s a jaw-dropping array of main courses.

And we’ve not even mentioned the haggis bon bons; crab and calamari fishcakes; voodoo chicken or the meat and cheese boards which are on the starters section.

Tutto Matto has not been open very long and is already garnering great reviews on its Facebook page:
