The Crags Hotel

In Callander, there is a tree that’s said to be a home for the fairy folk. And while we’re not promising you that it will grant you a wish, it’s worth a try, isn’t it?

One or two-night stay

Available seven days a week, the Big Deal has four options. Option one is for a one night stay for two, option two is the same with dinner each. Option three is for a two-night stay and option four is the same with dinner each on the first evening.

A full Scottish breakfast each morning is included – the ideal set-up before your day’s adventures – as well as a bottle of Prosecco on arrival, and late check-out to noon.

Guests can request a double or twin room, King room (deluxe), or a Family room (sleeping up to five) – supplements may apply.

A £15 supplement per room per night for Friday & Saturday night stays applies, payable directly to hotel.

Dine on Scottish fare

Guests on options two and four of today’s Big Deal will receive a two-course dinner served in the hotel or in the sister hotel The Waverley, directly across the road.

The restaurant’s at both hotels pride themselves on serving Scottish pub food favourites.

Menus can be updated seasonally, but may look a lot like the following:

Starters

Grilled haggis and black pudding with petit salad and French dressing

Homemade trio of smoked fish terrine with herb mayonnaise and oatcakes

Avocado, tomato and mozzarella salad with pesto and balsamic glaze

Mains

Pan-fried salmon fillet with crushed new potatoes and lemon butter sauce

Chef’s own lasagne with garlic bread and dressed salad

Roast chicken fillet with mushrooms and parmesan risotto

Vegetarian, vegan and wheat/gluten-free options are also available – please arrange with the hotel at the time of booking. Steak options, if available, carry an £8 supplement.

Cosy bar

If you fancy a drink, the long-standing Crags’ bar is no bigger the average living room. It is a cosy spot for a couple of pints and a natter with the friendly locals.

On lively weekend nights, the pub has a great atmosphere with banter and music aplenty.

See & do

The Crags Hotel makes the ideal base for fishing, cycling, walking and sailing. 

Other possibilities for a day out include Drummond Safari Park, Doune Castle, Rob Roy’s grave or a Loch Katrine trip on the Sir Walter Scott steamboat.

Or you could just go for a stroll up to Bracklinn falls. It takes approximately one hour from the hotel and will take you through beautiful woodland with lovely views towards Edinburgh.
