How many hotels can boast that both Robert Burns and Sir Walter Scott once sipped a dram in front of its fireplace?
Not many we’re guessing, which is why the Dumfries Arms Hotel in Ayrshire is rightly proud of its heritage (Prince Charles also considers it a national treasure).
So why not immerse yourself in 300 years of atmosphere with today’s Big Deal on a Prosecco afternoon tea for two or four?
Enjoy a sparkling afternoon
Although the history of the Dumfries Arms stretches back centuries, inside, you will find all the comforts of a contemporary boutique getaway.
Available seven days until the end of July, this Big Deal offers you the chance to enjoy a fizzy afternoon treat in the hotel’s comfy restaurant.
Option one is for afternoon tea for two with a glass of Prosecco each.
Option two is for afternoon tea for four with a bottle of Prosecco to share.
Your selection will include an assortment of finger sandwiches; plain and fruit scones served with butter, cream and strawberry preserve, and cakes made by the hotel’s in-house baker.
You can also choose from tea or coffee alongside your fizz. Please let the hotel know if you require veggie or gluten/wheat-free options.
Combine it with a day trip
Ayrshire is always a great location for a spring or summer day out.
Once you have finished your afternoon tea, you could explore other attractions such as the nearby 18th century Dumfries House, the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum or the fairytale Culzean Castle.
Ayr Racecourse makes for a fun jaunt and A. D. Rattray’s Whisky Experience is around a 45-minute drive away.
And of course, Ayrshire is golfer’s heaven as well.
The Dumfries Arms Hotel has pleased visitors so much that it has earned itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. Here is one glowing review:
‘Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, always smiling, asking if you had a nice day and if they could help with anything, talkative, good knowledge of area, and very smart appearance. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.’
Who will you invite?
If you like the idea of sipping fizz and ‘nibbling’ (okay, scoffing) freshly baked cakes in a historic Scottish hotel, then this offer is for you.
Available for two or four people, our current burning question is – who will you choose to take along with you?
