Would you like to know how we take our tea?
Seriously. Very seriously indeed.
But while tea is indeed a serious business, it is also seriously fun. Especially when accompanied by sandwiches.
And cakes. And sweet treats. And lashings and lashings of cream. And maybe Prosecco… You get the picture.
Is there a better way to enjoy afternoon tea than in a lovely four-star hotel by a loch? Nope, especially when it’s Lochside House Hotel & Spa in Ayrshire, which is offering afternoon tea for two with today’s Big Deal.
Escape to Burns Country
Valid until the end of March, available seven days a week, this Big Deal is a chance to head off into the countryside for the day while enjoying a cosy Ayrshire welcome from the staff at Lochside House Hotel.
This would be a great chance to enjoy a bit of one-on-one time with someone special.
Hotel by a loch
The Lochside is set within twenty acres of countryside and overlooks The Loch of the Lowes. Originally, it was a shooting lodge for the Marquis of Bute, and now combines a traditional Scottish welcome with 21st century luxuries.
Handily, the hotel is less than an hour’s drive from Glasgow and under two hours from Edinburgh, so it is easy to reach for a day trip.
This Big Deal is available seven days a week from 2.30pm to 5pm, and is available in The Afton Bar & Restaurant. Known as the Lochside’s ‘Jewel in the Crown’, The Afton’s glass exterior and wrap-around terrace means you can enjoy panoramic views of the loch, surrounding hills and Ayrshire countryside.
Your afternoon tea will include a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, warm scones with cream and preserves, and a variety of cakes and sweet delights.
Option two includes a glass of Prosecco each.
Afterwards, you could enjoy a stroll by the loch, or if you fancy a bit of a shop, head to Cumnock Factory Outlet to pick up some brand name bargains (you may even want to book in some time at the hotel’s spa).
Other area highlights include Glaisnock Mansion House and Blackcraig Hill. Burns Cottage is around a half hour drive away.
