Handpicked for you – curated deals for 5pm customers
Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside. We do like to be beside the sea.
Especially when we are staying a friendly, family-run hotel which is surrounded by fantastic golf courses.
Enjoy this refreshing sea breeze of a Big Deal with today’s offer on a dinner, bed and breakfast stay for two at the welcoming Parkstone Hotel in Prestwick.
Located on the Central Esplanade, it has spectacular views to Arran and Ailsa Craig.
Converted from an earlier Edwardian Mansion, The Parkstone Hotel opened its doors in 1933 and has been a family-owned and operated hotel ever since.
While it retains a certain Edwardian elegance, the hotel also has all the modern comforts and conveniences you would expect in the 21st century.
Available seven days a week, the offer is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay in a double or twin room with a full Scottish breakfast.
The Big Deal includes a two course dinner with a 175ml glass of wine for each diner in the hotel’s award-winning Restaurant 33.
The hotel’s 30 ensuite bedrooms all feature a flat screen TV, hairdryer, Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries, a hospitality tray and luxury 1200 pocket sprung mattresses.
The majority of the rooms overlook the sea with the remainder facing the gardens. Sea view rooms are a £10 supplement.
Ground floor rooms are also available with disabled access.
Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel and internet facilities are available if you need to print last minute boarding passes.
Enjoying panoramic ocean views, the hotel’s Restaurant 33 is committed to the values of uncomplicated, unpretentious cooking.
The chefs like to use the very best local produce and let the food speak for itself. The offer includes a starter and main course for each guest accompanied by a 175ml glass of wine.
The menus change regularly but typical main courses might be the pan-fried breast of chicken with Arran haggis, whisky pepper sauce, parsley mash and sautéed vegetables or the smoked haddock gratin with Ayrshire bacon, leeks, creamed potato, poached egg and cheddar.
The hotel’s bar lounge has great views of the coast and leads on to the hotel’s Beer Garden on the Beach, perfect for whiling away a sunny afternoon.
See and do
With sixteen wonderful golf courses within ten minutes of the hotel, it is difficult to think of a better location for a golfing break.
At one end of the esplanade lies Prestwick Old Course, the birth place of Open Golf and at the other end is Prestwick St Nicholas.
All of Burns Country is within a gentle drive and a visit to Culzean Castle and its surrounding park is always a great day out.
Of course, Ayr racecourse has a full programme of spring and summer fixtures.
The Parkstone Hotel scores 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor with 90% of reviews rating the hotel as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’. These recent reviews are typical:
‘Perfect for west coast Scotland golf. Lovely, small, waterfront hotel, one minute from Prestwick Golf Club. Small, clean rooms, many with ocean front views. Nice bar and restaurant on first floor. Parking area outside front door. Friendly staff, very affordable.’
‘Wonderful experience. So nice to find a well run hotel with local staff and excellent management. Nothing was too much bother for them. Only managed an overnight with friends, but definitely going back again. Fabulous place for families, with more than generous room sizes to cope…’
A breath of fresh sea air
If you enjoy golf, then this Big Deal would be perfect for a getaway with a friend.
If you don’t play golf, it would be ideal for romantic beach walks or a gentle day spent exploring the Ayrshire countryside.
Of course, Prestwick airport is the departure point for many people jetting off on their hols.
The hotel is less than five minutes from the airport by taxi. Handy if you have an early flight to catch.
