The latest in the Two Fat Ladies family of restaurants, the Troon branch makes the most of its coastal location.
As well as a stunning maritime mural, it also has views over the Royal Troon golf course to Arran.
Since opening in the landmark Ayrshire hotel, the Two Fat Ladies Restaurant has been building a reputation for serving the finest, locally sourced food.
Available seven days a week, today’s Big Deal is for two people to have a two course lunch accompanied by a chilled glass of Champagne.
The modern menu specialises in fresh and seasonal dishes. While the exact choices may change typical options might be starters such as the Two Fats prawn cocktail, Cullen skink, the wild mushroom risotto or the smooth chicken liver pâté served with pear chutney and toasted onion bread.
Popular main courses include the blade of Scotch beef with chive mash, button onion, pancetta and red wine jus or the oven-baked fillet of cod, chorizo and chickpea stew.
This Big Deal writer can recommend the Two Fats sticky toffee pudding. Other choices include the vanilla crème brulée and the toasted coconut Bavarois served with exotic fruits and a mango sorbet.
Some dishes, such as the steak, will incur a supplement.
Lots of diners have enjoyed their experience of the Two Fat Ladies Restaurant at The Marine Hotel and left reviews like these on TripAdvisor:
‘Great service, delicious food… 10/10. Will most definitely be revisiting. Took my mum and she also thoroughly enjoyed it. Two customers that will be returning.’
‘Good, tasty food, nicely presented… Good choice of three or four starters, mains and desserts. I chose Cullen skink to start which was delicious, very tasty and piping hot.
Sea bass fillets on a bed of cous cous with a salad and salsa verde for main course which was beautifully presented and tasty… I would go back and recommend the place.’
