A recent report released by the Institute of Good Times has confirmed what you already knew – you are long overdue a hotel escape.
The report’s recommendations included ‘country coaching inn’, ‘modern comforts’ and ‘cosy romantic times in front of a real fire’.
The report concluded by suggesting that the award-winning Old Loans Inn near Troon was a place that ticked all of those boxes.

Once an 18th century coaching inn, The Old Loans is now a four star boutique hotel. It is based in the village of Loans near Troon and was the 2018 winner of the ‘Small Hotel of the Year’.
The hotel has a popular country pub and restaurant, a lounge with a crackling fire and comfy rooms. Various championship golf courses like Royal Troon are close by. You can also make use of the spa facilities at the sister property, The Gailes Hotel, just a 10-minute drive away.
Your room will be full of mod cons like a flat screen TV, docking station and free WiFi. There will also be a desk, phone and tea & coffee making facilities.
Plenty of flexibility
This Big Deal is available seven days until 27th May and has four options.
Option one is for an overnight stay for two in a classic twin or double room. Option two adds on a full Scottish breakfast.
Option three adds on a two course dinner to the package. Option four adds on an extra night, with breakfast each morning and dinner on the first night.
There will be a £20 supplement for Friday and Saturday stays. You can also arrange with the hotel to upgrade your room for a supplement.
Enjoy a taste of Ayrshire
The country restaurant at Old Loans Inn prides itself on serving up a taste of Ayrshire, with starters such as the Ayrshire haggis bon bons, the Loans homemade pate and the seasonal melon.
Expect mains like the braised beef and ale pie, the salmon en croute, and the baby spinach, ricotta, piquillo pepper cannelloni. There is also sirloin steak option, available with a supplement.
