Local produce

The chefs at The Gailes like to use as much local produce as possible. The set menu changes regularly but typical starters are the vegetable pakora with hot dipping sauce and crispy carrot salad, and the chicken liver pâté with spiced pear and sultana chutney, Arran oaties, salad leaves and house dressing.

Main courses may include the oven baked fillet of salmon on crushed new potatoes with spring onions, wilted greens and a lemon hollandaise, and the tagliatelle with sun-blushed tomatoes, olives, pine nuts, garlic, chilli and served with garlic bread.

Leisure facilities

The Gailes has excellent leisure facilities. Work out in the gym and then chill in the humid zone, sauna, Turkish steam room and large spa Jacuzzi with views to the golf course.

The golfing facilities are not included in the offer but, as we mentioned, The Gailes is surrounded by some of the world’s best golf courses. The hotel also has its own nine-hole course, short game area and a floodlit driving range.
