‘Dancing in Dunoon light, everybody’s feeling and warm and bright’, sang Toploader, back in the misty 90s. It must be because the Firth of Clyde town looks lovely in every kind of light, including sunlight, twilight and moonlight.
If you fancy dancing in some Dunoon light for yourself, then take a nosy at today’s Big Deal for a two night stay for two at the Esplanade Hotel on the promenade.
With a full Scottish breakfast and three course dinner for two, you will have everything you need for a reviving escape within easy reach of Glasgow.
Part of the SGE group, Esplanade Hotel is a long-established, family-run residence perched on the West Bay Promenade, meaning you can enjoy sweeping views. Beyond its creamy exterior, the hotel offers comfortable accommodation and a warm welcome.

And if you like parading around in plus fours, then the Cowal Golf Club is just a short drive away.
The Esplanade Hotel has a very positive overall score of 4/5 on TripAdvisor, based on nearly 800 guest reviews. Here is some recent glowing praise, edited for length:
‘Great value and friendly staff. Stayed here for a weekend recently with my wife and really enjoyed it. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were great, very attentive, especially Caitlyn who worked on the bar on Saturday, she was really helpful. The hotel is right on the seafront with great views, I will be staying here again the next time I visit Dunoon.’
‘Had a great stay at the Esplanade. All staff were attentive, polite and made our stay all the better. Breakfast was great and staff coped well in busy dining area. Special mention must go to Caitlyn… will definitely be back and thanks again to all staff.’
‘Fabulous first visit to Dunoon. Recently spent a couple of nights at the Esplanade hotel and couldn’t have been better. Warm welcome on arrived. Four poster bed in room and a sea view to die for. Breakfast was really good, 3 courses and coffee. Evening meal was so good as well, four course and coffee. Service was super quick but up to really good standard. All staff really friendly and willing to do anything. Reasonably priced bar as well. Slight issue with dinner times on the Saturday night but quick sorted by Perry and Sonia… if you are looking at Dunoon don’t look any further than the Esplanade.’
