Sea view rooms

Available seven days a week, option one is for two people to have an overnight stay in a Double or Twin room with a full Scottish breakfast and a two course dinner.

If you want to stay a bit longer, option two is for two nights with breakfast and dinner each day of your stay.

All rooms are ensuite, spacious and extremely comfortable with a colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and sea views.

A large, comfortable guest lounge offers a quiet space to read, enjoy board games or just to relax and unwind.

Scottish produce

As well as a full Scottish breakfast, guest will enjoy a two course dinner in the hotel’s Sound of Gigha Bistro.

Awarded a Taste Our Best 2015/16 title from Visit Scotland, the hotel’s chefs are proud to serve local ingredients such as fresh or smoked halibut as well as the hotel’s own cured halibut.

Typical starters include garlic bruschetta with homemade tomato and basil ragu, sprinkled with cheese, and pan-seared scallops in garlic butter and apple chutney.

Mains include the breaded chicken breast burger with garlic mayo and ciabatta bun with fries, beer battered onion rings, gherkin and salad garnish; Capriccioso pizza with quality Mozzarella, homemade Napoli tomato sauce, mushroom and ham, and West Coast haddock in crispy batter with chips and peas.

The hotel is happy to cater for dietary requirements and ask guests to inform them in advance.

While Gigha and the islands of Japan may not appear to have much in common, there is a link.

The chefs at the Gigha Hotel are dab hands at creating innovative bento boxes. Ideal for picnics, the hotel offers four different bento boxes including one filled with Gigha smoked halibut, smoked salmon, couscous, salad and dip. The bento boxes are not included in the offer.

See and do

Gigha may be small but there is no shortage of things to do on the island. Many guests like to explore the magnificent Achamore Gardens.

You could also play the island’s challenging 9-hole golf course or simply walk to the top of Creag Bhan and watch the sun set behind Islay.

A highlight for many visitors is watching dolphins play off the South Pier.
