If ever a scene looked like a Christmas card come magically to life, it’s the banks of Loch Lomond in winter when they’re coated in shimmering frost and snow. And if you look very carefully, you can even spot the odd white deer.
Today’s Big Deal gives you a chance to experience it for yourself on a romantic overnight getaway to the Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel at Luss.
This four star hotel sits right on the banks of Scotland’s most famous loch and has played host to two American Presidents – Carter and Clinton.
A full Scottish breakfast, three course dinner, full use of the hotel’s leisure facilities and as much of the beautiful views as you can drink in are all included in the deal.
Just 30 minutes from Glasgow, The Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel sits in the heart of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
Many of the rooms and the hotel’s Colquhoun’s Restaurant offer undisturbed panoramic views of Scotland’s most breath-taking loch and its majestic, mountainous surroundings.

It is an approach which has won the restaurant two AA Rosettes.
The menus change regularly.
Typical main courses on the table d’hôte menu might be the roasted chicken breast with dauphinoise potatoes, creamed spinach, chorizo and broccoli or the baked Loch Fyne sea trout with trout tortellini, asparagus, crab and pickled radish.
