The four star Knockderry House Hotel recently won the Most Romantic Hotel award at the Scottish Hotel Awards.
It is easy to see why.
Four poster beds, roll top baths, log fires and a loch-side location for summer evening walks all contribute to the hotel’s considerable allure.
Looking like a fairytale castle, the award-winning Knockderry House Hotel is situated on the banks of Loch Long, one of the most magnificent sea lochs of Scotland.
Family-owned and run, it is a beautiful spot in which to escape the rat race.
Available seven days a week, this Big Deal is for a one night stay in a contemporary Master room with a full Scottish breakfast in the morning.
There is a £40 per night supplement for Friday and Saturday night stays.
Fresh and modern rooms
The Master bedrooms have views of the loch and the gardens and are furnished with king-sized four poster beds and roll top baths.
They have all been decorated with a fresh modern feel and feature numerous thoughtful touches such as luxury fabrics, crisp Egyptian cotton, Krupp’s coffee makers, sumptuous bathrobes, DVD players and Arran Aromatics toiletries.
Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the hotel including all bedrooms. All rooms are, of course, en-suite.
Dining at Knockderry House Hotel
Breakfast is included in the offer. If you choose to take other meals at the hotel then you are in for a memorable dining experience.
Dining is a major part of the experience of any stay at Knockderry House and the hotel has earned a Taste the Best award from VisitScotland as well as two AA Rosettes.
Dinner is served in the old wood-panelled dining room of the original house with its glorious stained glass and a charming outlook over Loch Long.
The kitchen uses only the finest seasonal, Scottish ingredients.
The menus change regularly but typical dishes on the five course evening menu might be the pan-fried scallops with herb gnocchi, samphire and a parmesan crisp or the slow braised beef cheek with mushroom tarte Tatin, parsnip fritter, Brussels sprouts and red wine jus.
As part of this Big Deal, guests who book the five course seasonal dinner menu will be offered a complimentary carafe of wine.
To ensure that guests have quick and easy access to a variety of little things that might be needed, there is a Butler’s Pantry on the first landing of the main house.
The pantry is well stocked with CDs and DVDs, ironing boards, irons, shoe cleaning kit, housewife/needle and thread as well as useful items like stationary and a clothes brush.
