Romantic 19th century hotel

Situated where the River Awe meets Loch Awe, Ardanaiseig Hotel is surrounded by a landscape heavy with Celtic myths and memories.

This luxurious Grade II country house escape in Argyll was designed by leading 19th century architect, William Burn. Guests can enjoy 120 acres of tranquil grounds, loch views and the mighty Ben Cruachan as a backdrop.

The hotel won the Romantic Hotel of the Year 2019 at Scottish Hotel Awards and the Scottish Hospitality Awards, and recently received its AA four star status, an AA Rosette and AA breakfast award.

Luxurious stay

This Big Deal is for a one or two night stay for two in a lovely Double Garden View room with a bottle of wine waiting for you on arrival. It is available seven days a week from 20th October 2019 to 31st March 2020.

Breakfast is included as well as a three course set menu meal for two. Dinner will be on the first night if you choose the second option.

You can take children under aged 12 or under along for a supplement or for free if they are aged two or under. Dogs are also welcome for a supplement.

High-end dining

The acclaimed restaurant at Ardanaiseig is known for its fabulous cuisine, meaning that you can look forward to a dining experience to remember.

You will be sampling three courses from the set menu. Choices change seasonally, but mouthwatering mains might include the pan-roasted duck breast, the pork belly with haggis bon bon, the pan-fried brown trout and, for veggies, the open ravioli of wild black garlic mushroom.

Explore Loch Awe

Ardanaiseig Hotel is close to the atmospheric ruins Kilchurn Castle, Ben Cruachan and the breathtaking Cruachan Reservoir. The hotel also offers boat rentals, bike loans and even croquet kits to guests.

Loch Awe has plenty of wildlife and if you are lucky you might spot red deer, Scottish wildcats, red foxes, otters, red squirrels, pine martens, osprey, buzzards and corncrakes.

‘Alluring hotel within picturesque surroundings. This exquisite hotel is right on the edge of the beautiful Loch Awe… the inside of the hotel is like a palace with very affluent decor but still manages to give a cosy, comfortable feel with stunning views of the loch and surrounding forests and gardens. Guests can even choose to borrow a small motor boat to explore the loch and local islands or even do a spot of fishing. I’ll definitely be making this a regular getaway spot, although next time I think it will be with my boyfriend as it’s also quite a romantic setting. The staff were really lovely and the food was out of this world. I actually discovered you can go there just for dinner, which I will undoubtedly do any time I’m in the area. I cannot recommend this place enough.’
