With this Big Deal, you can enjoy a one or two night stay for two in the comfort of an upgraded Garden View room.
Escape to Baronial splendour
Set within 60 acres of woodland gardens, the four-star Stonefield Castle Hotel was built in 1837. Many of the beautiful period features, such as the wood panelling, ornate ceilings and marble fireplaces, have been retained.
Close to the pretty fishing village of Tarbert, the castle stands high on the famous Kintyre peninsula and has spectacular views over Loch Fyne and the gardens.
Guests are encouraged to stroll through the hotel’s mature woodland gardens with its exotic rhododendron and spot red squirrels or the resident roe deer.
At dusk, it is sometimes possible to catch sight of seals swimming by the jetty or an otter playing on the rocks.
Choose your perfect getaway
Available seven days a week until 23rd December 2019, this offer would make for a truly dreamy autumn or winter break. You have three options to choose from:

Dinner will be a £50 food & drink spend per couple.
Each of the 36 rooms at Stonefield Castle is individually decorated with a traditional Scottish feel. All are ensuite with digital TVs, hairdryers and hot drink making facilities. The hotel offers WiFi and free on-site parking.
Your upgraded room will have a view over the hotel’s beautiful gardens, which look particularly lovely in autumn.
You also have the option of further upgrading to these other room types:
King/Twin Loch View – £20 per night
Deluxe Double – £30 per night
Principle – £50 per night
Please note that there is a £20 supplement for Fridays and a £30 supplement for Saturday night stays.
AA Rosette dining
The hotel restaurant is well known for the high quality of its cooking, and locally sourced beef, game and seafood take pride of place on the menu.
Typical starters on the regularly changing menu might be the sweet red pepper and lemongrass soup, and the duo of salmon with horseradish creme fraiche and caper berries.
Popular main courses include the supreme of chicken with artichoke hearts, dauphinoise potatoes and braised shallots, and the parsnip gnocchi with slow-roasted heritage tomatoes, fennel, chilli and mint.
The only thing that may distract you from the food is the breathtaking view over the loch.
After dinner, guests are encouraged to enjoy a drink in front of the log fire in the bar.
A very Fyne view
You will have all of the loch to enjoy during your stay, plus the pretty village of Tarbert is just a couple of miles away and well worth a visit. As well as fishing boats and yachts, there may even be the chance to see the harbour’s visiting pod of dolphins.
There are many walks and trails in the area to suit hikers and ramblers. For those who prefer adventure on the water, there are boat trips to Seil Island or the Corryvreckan Whirlpool.
The hotel can also arrange fly fishing on Loch Fyne or even horse trail riding at the nearby Brenfield Estate. Stonefield is also a golfer’s paradise, with five courses all within 40 miles.
Stonefield Castle Hotel has bowled over many a guest. These recent TripAdvisor contributions say it all (we’ve edited them for length):
‘...wonderful weekend away with our friends…the service and food were exceptionally priced and delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and made us feel more welcome every time. The grounds around the loch and castle are absolutely stunning and great for exploring…’
‘...I must first say we were very lucky with good weather which made the most of the stunning views from Stonefield Castle. We were well looked after by friendly and attentive staff… the food is very good indeed, excellent local shellfish… and portions good enough that I am afraid I never made it to pudding. Breakfast was a real treat with perfect eggs and abundant tea, coffee and toast brought to the table… the grounds are very pretty and being able to explore down to the loch edge for sunrise was a good way to build an appetite for breakfast.’
‘Been coming here over 20 years now and the hotel still has a charm that is hard to find elsewhere. A large part of that is due to the magnificent setting. Good weather meant that we had plenty of walking within the grounds and further afield. The hotel has done a bit of work on the rooms since last time and was looking better than it has for a while. The food was immense both at dinner and at breakfast. We will be back next year…’
