Individually designed rooms

All of the luxury guest rooms are individually designed. Most have super-king size beds with luxurious feather duvets and pillows as well as crisp, high quality bed linens.

They are filled with antiques and some have four poster beds, vaulted ceilings and marble fireplaces. It really is stunning.

As well as these beautiful period features, the rooms have flat-screen TVs, DVD players, hot drinks trays and free WiFi.

There is a supplement of £20 for Saturday night stays.

Dining at Durn House

A cooked breakfast is included in the offer. Typical options on the breakfast menu include creamy eggs Benedict; breakfast kippers from the Moray Firth and the hearty house cooked breakfast.

There is also the option to pre-book a vintage afternoon tea experience by a roaring log fire or a truly memorable, three course evening meal featuring the finest local lamb, beef and seafood.

Durn House invites guests to bask in the lavish drawing room, the Grand Hall or in the Dining Room which is filled with rich plush fabrics.

Guests are also welcome to chalk their cues and enjoy a frame or two on the billiard table in the Gentlemen’s Club.

‘Luxury two night break. Was truly impressed from the moment we entered this luxury house filled with antiques and steeped in history. We were met by Colin who provided us with a welcoming tray of tea and coffee in front of the blazing log fire as it was a really cold night… We were shown to our room by Marcus who offered to carry our suitcases, always the sign of professional attention… We were in the Dunbar room and could not fault a thing. We thought the room was on the large size until we saw the en-suite bathroom which was accessed through double doors. It was enormous and fully equipped with free-standing roll top bath and large walk in shower cubicle. Towels were large and fluffy. Bathrobes are also provided… Extra large bed was extremely comfortable and we slept soundly. Breakfast was a hearty affair and one of the best we have eaten in a hotel for some time. Staff were ever attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to make you feel at home but also to make you feel special and a valued guest. Well done, Durn House. We will certainly be back!’
