About Green Gates Stirling
Award-winning Indian restaurant in central Stirling
This popular Stirling dining spot is part of the Green Gates restaurant family, with the other branches being in Glasgow and Renfrew. With a couple of awards under its belt, it has picked up a real local following. Green Gates is run by two chefs trained in India, who were previously the winning team between the multi award-winning Mother India and Wee Curry Shop. The setting is a smart and modern brasserie-style restaurant with classic wooden panels and floors.
Regional cuisine and all-time favourites
Green Gates specialises in home-style dishes from North and South India and offers many speciality choices.
Highlights from the starters include roast paprika mussels; tandoori scallops and paneer pakora, as well as South Indian chilli chicken dosa.
Speciality mains feature king prawn chattinad cooked in coconut, black pepper & mustard; tandoori sea bass and tender, flavoursome lamb shanks. Or you can opt for a curry house classic such as tandoori chicken, lamb biryani or chicken tikka.
You can also try out street food dishes like daal makhini, national favourites such as butter chicken, or a regional delight like Goan fish curry. Vegetarian choices include saag paneer, mixed vegetable curry and daal tadka.
If you fancy sharing, two people can tuck into the raan, a hefty leg of lamb cooked in Indian spices then served with rice and naan bread.
