Steak offers

Why is steak generally considered to be the most luxurious dish? Maybe because it tends to be expensive. Maybe because so much concentrated effort is put into bringing out its best flavours, from dry aging rooms to josper grills. Maybe it’s simply because steak is so delicious.

    Great option for pre-theatre

Palomino was a little quiet when we arrived at 17:30, no doubt because it was so early on a Sunday. I expect its busier at other times. We ordered our steaks and wine, both of which arrived promptly. I thought that the chips were particularly good and I'd like to come back and try the burgers at some point to.

    Fantastic Streak, cooked to perfection.

We had the steak sharing platter and it was amazing. Sides and saucs were expensive though.. £2.50 each for a sauce and sides were £4.50+. The steaks come with minimal garnish - tomato, mushrooms and a small bit of salad so sides are necessary. 2 sides and a sauce per head soon adds up. Also the portion sizes of sides were really small. So be prepared to spend. Service was great and I can’t fault it. Wine prices were average for a restaurant starting around £22 a bottle but the selection of wines was limited. Overall I would definitely return as the quality of the steak is up there with the best I’ve tasted in Glasgow.

We had chosen to book a table at FF West End where we could watch the Calcutta Cup match and enjoy the atmosphere. We weren't disappointed! The service throughout was brilliant while we both enjoyed the burger, complete with black pudding. The only slight disappointment was the fries which we both felt could have been cooked longer. We ordered a side of haggis bon bons which they were huge - I struggled to finish mine but gave it a good go. We would definitely return - rugby or not.
