Thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks as part of the Gourmet menu which we'd booked. It was great value. However, as a regular customer at the Piccolo over the years, I was slightly disappointed in that I felt we were being a bit rushed. We had booked for 6pm and unfortunately one of my friends was held up and didn't arrive until 6.15pm so we were a bit late in going to our table. Nevertheless I felt the service was rushing us and was astonished when our bill arrived at our table without us asking for it. After that, staff were hovering around us until we paid. Unfortunately I hadn't noticed that the booking said tables back by 1 hour and 30 minutes, but as the restaurant wasn't full, although it was busy, I couldn't see what the rush was. Not my best experience at the Piccolo.
