Raji Rani is an Indian restaurant in Bearsden. The name of the restaurant means “King and Queen” and they aim to provide a royal treatment to each of their customers. The restaurant is a large, airy space with plenty of seating to accommodate families, groups of friends and couples.
The a la carte menu at Raji Rani has a huge number of dishes catering to all tastes, featuring a mix of traditional Indian favourites and modern updates. Tandoori is a speciality and there are many tandoori starters and main courses on offer.
Curries and tandoori dishes
Diners can scan their eyes over the extensive starter section which includes a selection of pakoras, lamb cutlets and coconut sea bass, among others. There is also a separate tandoori starter section which has traditional tandoori starters like chicken tikki alongside more unusual options like tandoori broccoli.
The main course sections of the menu include connoisseur’s choice, which includes more adventurous curries like rara gosht, a unique slow cooked lamb dish from the north of India, and haryali makhni murgh, a green chicken curry cooked with baby spinach, coriander, and mint puree.
The house specials include variations of all the curry classics, like chasni, bhuna and masala.
Vegetarians are well catered to, with a huge number of dishes on offer, including coconut cumin potato and cauliflower dhansac (cauliflower cooked with spiced lentils) among others.
There are also separate sections on the menu for main course tandoori and dosa dishes.
