About 1847 - Manchester

Vegetarian restaurant in Manchester city centre

Named after the year the first vegetarian society was formed, 1847 – Manchester serves vegetarian and vegan food in Manchester city centre. Located on the corner of Mosley Street and Booth Street, it is close to Manchester Art Gallery, theatres, Albert Square, and the shopping district. The decor is cool and understated, featuring reclaimed wood and exposed hanging lightbulbs. The menu at 1847 is made up of modern British dishes created using local seasonal produce – examples are “fish” and chips (made with halloumi instead of fish) and celeriac and potato gratin. A carefully selected wine list compliments the food menu.
