About Alston Bar & Beef - Manchester
Casual Dining in Manchester City Centre
Alston Bar & Beef is a stylish steak & gin hangout on Cathedral Street, secluded beneath The Corn Exchange. Boasting ‘the best steak & gin in Manchester’, this is the only restaurant that serves up the top 1% of Scottish beef from the Tweed Valley, plus plenty of the juniper-based tipple. In fact, the bar offers over 60 gins in total, each uniquely garnished and served to perfection. The space is enhanced by tasteful neon lightning, creating a chic atmosphere. Alston Bar & Beef would be ideal for a relaxed dinner date followed by drinks, or for a meal with friends before hitting the town.
Steak and Gin
Alston’s 160 cover restaurant will be the first venue in Manchester to offer Tweed Valley steak on its menu. The beef is selected by Scottish suppliers, Gilmour Butchers, and then dry-aged for 35 days, for optimum flavour. A selection of seafood is also on offer, including fish dishes, scallops and steak toppers which will be the catch of the day. Main menu items can change, but expect to find starters such as steak tartare, Arbroath smokie & crowdie roulade and stuffed piquillo peppers. Main courses include t-bone, sirloin, ribeye, fillet, cote de boeuf and rump steaks with a range of sauces. If steak isn’t your thing, then typical alternatives could be Ayrshire pork chop, roast chicken breast and, for vegetarians, beetroot & goats cheese risotto.
