Stylish Italian dining in Castlefield
Cibo is a new Italian restaurant situated on Liverpool Road in the heart of Castlefield. Formerly Per Tutti, the restaurant has enjoyed an £180,000 revamp, including the installation of a huge glittering disco ball, funky modern art and quirky mirrors. Live music every weekend adds to the overall buzz. Cibo is the sister restaurant to the award-winning Don Giovanni, Manchester’s oldest Italian dining spot. The focus is on bringing high quality, tasteful Italian food to the table, including fresh fish dishes. This would make a great spot for dinner with friends or for a relaxed date.
Fresh and contemporary Italian cuisine
At Cibo, diners can enjoy a modern take on Italian food, overseen by a passionate team. Menus can change, but specialist dishes might include the Zuppa de Pesce – a huge bowl of rich broth filled with salmon, mussels, monkfish and squid, along with bread for dipping, for two to share or one to indulge.
Sample starters might include the Fresh Cornish crab, lightly breadcrumbed and fried, with a mango dip, the beef meatballs in a medium spice tomato sauce and the wild mushrooms with mozzarella.
Mains might feature the halibut pan fried with Prosecco and asparagus, the veal with lemon & sage served with grilled Venetian white polenta and a range of steaks with various sauces.
In the pasta section you might find the risotto funghi with wild mushrooms and truffle oil or the ravioli lobster with fresh chilli in a lobster bisque. Pizzas include a mixture of all-time favourites and more unusual choices such as the Contadina with wild spinach, chicken, pine nut and asparagus.
