    Mediocre overpriced food

Loved the ambience, friendly staff but very disappointed in the food. My husband had the rump which was very tough, he only managed a quarter, I tried a piece and had to leave in my napkin as I chewed and chewed and chewed!! When the waitress asked if it was ok and we replied with the problem, she answered with well it was a rump and you asked for it rare? (Eh no! It was medium! ), next time i’ll ask them to cut it in half to cook! The side of macaroni was bland. It is a lovely setting but in my opinion its way overpriced as the food wasn’t great. Mediocre at best ☹️

    Very good

We were very impressed with the food. We will definitely go back, although we feel their full menu is a bit pricey.

    Why So Cold?

This was our 4th visit to the Grand Cafe as we’ve always enjoyed it, however, we were all most disappointed on this particular visit due to the low temperature within the dining area. The food is always great but on this occasion it cooled too quickly on our plates purely because the heating was inadequate. We actually sent some food back for reheating and 2 cups of coffee were subtracted from our bill for the same reason! Please check the temperatures in your dining area & adjust as required, otherwise we certainly won’t be booking up again.

    Best reunion venue

This is the second time we have used this venue for our regular catch ups. I love this venue, food is of a high standard, service is excellent. Nobody makes you feel like you have to leave, we booked for 1 pm and didn't leave until 5pm. Have already agreed a date to return in November.

    Great place to eat

1st time here and it won’t be the last - food and service great. Only issue was the cocktails - possibly just not to our taste - butter old fashioned for those who love a regular OF possibly a sweet step too far. I Will return as loved everything else.
