About James Cochran N1
Casual modern British restaurant in Angel
Following on from the success of his eponymous restaurant in the City, James Cochran N1 launched in Angel Central on Parkfield Street in the summer of 2017. The former Ledbury chef is aiming for a more informal vibe in his North London venture. Along with an open kitchen, James Cochran N1 has a cocktail and wine bar, stage table, DJ booth, takeaway area and an outside terrace.
Flatbreads, jerk chicken and more
Divided into snacks, main course flatbreads and desserts, the menu at James Cochran N1 is as succinct as it is appealing. Signature choices include the crispy, buttermilk jerk chicken on the snack section. Other snack options include the cauliflower cheese Marmite croquettes; rabbit and fennel cigars plus crispy chicken skin with a padron pepper mayo.
There are six flatbreads on the mains plus seasonal specials. Popular choices include the hay-baked lamb shoulder on black garlic flatbread with burnt lemon yoghurt; the treacle-glazed shin of beef and the Cornish monkfish on coconut flatbread with satay sauce, aubergine, yoghurt and coriander.
You may want to leave space for a peanut butter parfait with white chocolate and cherries or even the sticky toffee knickerbocker glory.
