Stylish bistro in Uddingston
Creme de la Creme is a modern bistro serving up fresh, quality, locally sourced dishes with a French twist. As well as hearty mains, you can also drop by for a coffee, elegant patisserie cake, ice cream or even freshly made lolly. The stripped brickwork and simple decor is a blend of industrial chic and cheerfully rustic, with leather sofas and a fireplace adding to the cosiness. In short, Creme de la Creme would be equally suited to a casual meal or a gossipy catch-up over macaroons. Please note that the restaurant is BYOB.
Comforting French-inspired dishes
The Gallic influence on Creme de la Creme’s menu is clear and all dishes are beautifully presented. Classic mains include mussels in white wine; feather blade of beef bourguignon, and navarin of lamb.
Other choices include breast of Gressingham duck with blackberry & cherry jus and 10z sirloin steak with Dauphinoise potatoes. Vegans can sample the five bean stew.
For a lighter bite, the sandwich selection includes chicken breast, beef brisket and egg mayo.
The head chef is committed to sourcing local produce such as Isle of Mull scallops; meat and poultry from John Gilmour Butchers, and bread & pastries from La Barantine of Edinburgh.
