About WEST on the Corner
New favourite place in Glasgow
This is the third time we've been and honestly can't fault a single thing. The atmosphere is lovely and laid back, great background music, impeccable service and the food selection and quality is some of the best around. The Sunday roast is without a doubt the best in Glasgow. The Howie burger was delicious. We had a German sharing platter, it was amazing, highly recommend it. Gorgeous wine and beer selection. A really cool wee place to eat and drink. Oh, outstanding value for money too.
West is the best!
My partner and I have been to west on the corner in the pasty and decided to try the 5pm offer of 2 courses off the main menu and a free west glass for £20.50 pp. the food was amazing! We had the ham hough terraine and beef goulash and for mains we had the Simon howie burger and currywurst. The beers are also a must to Try! We enjoyed west 4, Wild West and Munich red. Will defo be back.
German bar in West End
An offshoot of the WEST Brewery on Glasgow Green, WEST on the Corner brings a stylish taste of Bavaria to Woodlands Road. It is a good looking bar. By day, it is light and airy with stripped walls, pale wood and white, bright furniture. By night it has an inviting, warm glow. The locally brewed, German-style lagers and wheat beers on tap are a big attraction.
Classic German dishes
Serving everything from morning pastries and coffees to three course evening meals via a selection of bar bites, WEST on the Corner keeps its customers content all day long. The menus feature classic pork escalopes in a wild mushroom sauce; the classic Berlin currywurst; Nürnberger bratwürstl with sauerkraut and a juicy rib-eye steak.
Many people like to graze on the sharing platters of German sausage, Black Forest ham and pickles. It’s not all sausage and pork. There are vegetarian options, such as the breaded goat’s cheese burger topped with Portobello mushroom, as well as a nifty Goan fish curry. Many diners like to finish with the Viennese apple strudel.
