Villa Toscana Review

  • Rating Rating 3.2/5
Restaurant was very quiet. The quality of the food varied, I had the chicken salad starter with balsamic dressing but it was a bit bland and could have done with more dressing. The sea bass with lemon sauce was ok, the tiramisu delicious. However, other members of the party had the goats cheese starter and the soup, both of which were very tasty. We weren't told the mussels weren't available until the order was being taken so hasty changes to choices had to be made. Four of the party had the peppered steak, which was declared delicious. The vanilla ice cream was also very good. For £11.95 a head, you can't really go wrong - unless the till decides to add £24 onto the total (not quite sure how it did this! - the individual price totals on the till receipt simply did not add up to the total! However, was rectified when it was pointed out but a bit worrying that the till could get it so wrong? Just lucky I ran my eye over the figures as you would assume a printed till receipt would add up correctly) Wine quite pricey at £5.50 per glass but other drinks reasonable. A pleasant evening with good service all in all.
