Famous for fish and seafood, the original Two fat Ladies can do the business with poultry as well. The supreme of chicken baked in a wrap of Serrano ham was fine as was, predictably, the sea bream-even on a Sunday. Starters of sweet potato soup with ginger and hot-smoked salmon on a bed of salad leaves were up to the restaurant's usual high standard. So too were the desserts. Crannachan had an ususally tart twist -rhubarb and blackcurrant. Pavlova with pistacchio sauce was inevitably delicate with flavours exploding on the palate.
