    A Gem to be enjoyed

The staff give out the most warm greeting to everyone and go that extra mile by recognising and remembering details of individuals on return visits making one feel valuable. The choice, standard and value of the menu booking through 5pm are excellent. The wonderful atmosphere created through a variety of different events in the Strathmore should be enjoyed by all and the quiet periods at certain times of the day gazing out to the open fields at the rear make it difficult to remember that you are in a busy part of the city. A really joyful experience!

Contemporary, revitalised Maryhill bar

The Strathmore on Maryhill Road may date back to the 1870s but now looks as fresh as a daisy following a major refurbishment in the summer of 2015. As well as a complete and stylish modernisation of the interior, an airy glass extension and a sunny terrace have been added. A wood-burning stove will keep it all cosy in the winter while regular acoustic music acts and live sports mean that it will never be dull.

Modern pub grub favourites

Over several menus, The Strathmore Bar offers a mix of classic British cuisine and weekly special dishes from around the world. Sandwiches, fresh salads and burgers all make a starring appearance. Starters range from smoked salmon with Asian salad, chicken and chorizo skewers.
Fear not veggies! The Strathmore offers a range of vegetarian friendly food including the Glasveggie burger, as well as salads with goat’s cheese, balsamic onion and olives.

Local transport and attractions

The Strathmore is on Maryhill Road and on the route of several bus services to and from Glasgow city centre. There is restricted on-street parking. Firhill Stadium and Glasgow Botanic Gardens are among the nearby attractions. The closest subway is Kelvinbridge.
