Beautiful fresh home baking
Had a lovely afternoon with friends. I booked through 5pm, however on arrival they could not find my booking. They eventually found it telling me it was for the following day but I had confirmation from 5pm prior to attending confirming my booking for the day that I booked. The staff were still accommodating so all was good on the day. The cakes and sandwiches were lovely, only thing that disappointing was the scones. They didn't taste fresh, were hard and it would have been nice to have fruit ones.

Cosy tearoom in Finnieston, Glasgow
For fans of tea, cakes, vintage and fine china, The Hidden Lane Tea Room is a must visit. As its name says, the cafe is hidden away at the end of a lane off Argyle Street in Glasgow’s Finnieston. Wobbly tables, piles of recipe books and bunting on the walls give it a homely and welcoming atmosphere.
Freshly baked afternoon tea
Tea and cake are the order of the day at The Hidden Lane Tearoom. The day’s freshly baked cakes change regularly but previous offers have included pecan pie, mojito cup cakes and blueberry pavlova, all of which are proudly presented on cake stands around the cafe.
Tea is served in the traditional way at The Hidden Lane Tearoom – loose leaf in proper teapot with a strainer. A selection of black, green and chai teas are available, as well as tea cocktails which include options such as London fog and mighty mango (darjeeling, mango chutney and tangerine).
Naturally afternoon tea is a very popular option for visitors to The Hidden Lane Tearoom. The combination of fine china, freshly baked treats and vintage decor lends an authentic feel to the traditional British ceremony. A lunch menu is also available which includes sandwiches, salads and main dishes, also made with seasonal ingredients.
Local transport
The Hidden Lane tearoom is located in Glasgow’s Finnieston, a ten minute walk from Exhibition Centre Train Station. There are also a number of buses which pass along Argyle Street, a five minute walk away.
