The Drake Review

  • Rating Just ok. (Rating 2.8/5)
It had been a few years since I last dined in the Drake and it was not how I remembered it at all as we were seated in the bar as upstairs seems to be used for private dining now. The menu choice was very poor, curry, fish with salad or a vegetable pasta. We did ask for the regular menu but that had the same items and burgers on it.We were expecting some good traditional Scottish food but it was a bit of a let down.We also felt that the wine was overpriced for a bar, £27.The surroundings were rather run down and the toilets were not to a decent standard either.all in all a bit disappointing and a very different dining experience to the one I had on my first visit. When we left we noticed a sign outside advertising Sunday roast and would have been delighted to have had that had we been offered.
