The Crafty Pig Review

  • Rating Crafty Pig (Rating 3.8/5)
This place certainly has atmosphere if you like rugby matches and very loud music. It is half sports bar and half restaurant and was rammed when we arrived. The somewhat harassed waitress who guided us to our reserved table told us it would be some time before they would be able to serve us which we accepted while the Glasgow team thrashed the opposition to loud cheers which tested my hearing aid more than a little. When the food came it was good comfort food if a little macho on the chilli side. Once the match finished the service didn't really get noticeably better. We did find the servers cheery and we were offered an extra portion of ice cream with our dessert. When the bill came after nearly 3 hours we didn't notice they had not taken off the 20% for the 5pm offer until we got home, as we were only too happy to go up to the bar and pay having been there waiting far too long. We did find out after an ambulance rolled up outside that the chef had taken a turn during the evening which might explain some of the extensive delays.
