    Love love love

We attended under the bread, olives, 4 tapas and a bottle of wine for £40. The bread was lovely and some of the best olives we’ve tasted. The tapas was perfection, all washed down with some really nice red wine. Defo recommend this deal.

The most authentic 'Tapas' outside of Spain!

I can highly recommend this Tapas restaurant, without doubt one of the best Tapas I have tasted in the UK. We were a group of four friends out for afternoon lunch and the food in 'RIOJA' was just devine, mouth watering and to die for. The service was first class and the friendly staff even supplied us with a sample of a batch of sangria which was just freshly made! Each of us had our own favourites but mine were the pig cheek (CARRILLERA IBÉRICA), the crispy sweetened black pudding (CRUJIENTE DE MORCILLA) and the chefs own twist on bacon egg and chips (HUEVOS ROTOS CON JAMÓN IBÉRICO) simply delightful! Can't wait to go back.

Contemporary Spanish tapas in Finnieston

Since the end of the Noughties, the Finnieston area of Glasgow has become a hot spot for fashionable new bars and restaurants. Opened in the spring of 2014, Rioja Finnieston fits right in. Mismatched, thrift store chic gives this Spanish bar and kitchen a bohemian feel. While the decor may be hip, cool and casual, this is a well run operation and the sister business to more conventional restaurants such as Fino and La Rotunda.

Classic and contemporary Spanish tapas

Featuring prawns cooked in garlic and chilli, paella, tortilla and deep-fried squid, Rioja Finnieston has all the traditional tapas dishes that diners have come to love. More adventurous customers may want to mix them up with choices from the modern tapas selection. From grilled octopus with potato foam and smoked paprika to chicken lollipops with a red wine caramel, there are plenty of interesting surprises on offer here.

A good selection of wines by the glass and bottle plus some inventive cocktails, including a selection of punches to shares with friends, helps keep the atmosphere buoyant at Rioja Finnieston.

Transport links by Finnieston

Rioja Finnieston is at the Kelvingrove end of Argyle Street, not far from Kelvingrove Park and the Art Gallery and Museum. The Hydro and SECC are a short taxi ride or fifteen minute walk. The nearest train station is at the Exhibition Centre. There is some metered, on-street parking.
