Greeted quickly by friendly charming staff in this fantastic little restaurant with great atmosphere. Selected from the menu over drinks and was then brought wonderful, fresh rolls with a choice of butter or infused virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I began with an inspired confection of figs with beetroot, feta, couscous, parma ham, dukkah and rhubarb. This taste sensation really worked and set the tone for what was a memorable meal. My main course was a perfectly cooked and generous fillet of sea bass that lay on top of braised fennel, asparagus and sun-dried tomato with a little mound of choucroute on the side and a gazpacho ‘sauce’. The fish was perfectly complemented by this and a real joy to eat. Living on the ‘wild side’ I finished off with an intriguing and original dessert, namely a basil and mint sorbet with champagne jelly, which proved to be an excellent choice and an ideal way to finish off my meal. This excellent restaurant consistently delivers top class, innovative cooking in a relaxed and friendly setting with first class service. A real gem.
