Oh dear, where to start. First of all they had no record of our booking because 'that sometimes happens with 5pm' but fortunately we were told 'I'll give you a table anyway'. Interestingly the table had a handwritten note saying 'reserved' on it - who for, who knows? - but as it was right next to the ping pong table and very noisy we asked to be moved. We ordered drinks. 30 minutes later (!) they arrived. The wine was served in a tumbler, perhaps a USP?; the soft drink was wrong and had to be sent back. Food order now taken. The food arrived reasonably quickly and was good, soup and crab cakes for starters, steak for mains. My friend needed another fork having used hers for the crab cake. It was literally dropped on the table without a word. Alas, we then ordered coffee. My friend wanted a skinny latte. We were told they only had full fat milk. This is a restaurant across the road from a Waitrose for goodness sake! However, full fat latte ordered instead. And again we waited and we waited…. We decided to ask for the bill as soon as the coffee came to speed things up. Interestingly that was delivered within 30 seconds. In total it took 2 hours for a 2 course meal. The service was atrocious, the worst I have experienced in - oh I can't even remember the last time.
