Green Chilli Cafe Review

  • Rating Small portions and tasteless food (Rating 2.4/5)
We took the 2 courses for 13.95 deal. Ordered 1 garlic naan and a chapati as accompaniment to our mains. My son had a chicken pakora and chips kids meal which he thoroughly enjoyed. And we each had 1 soft drink. Total bill £45. Arrived and were seated at a table for 2 despite having a 2 year old with us. I had added that as a note in the comments section when booking and asked for a high chair. It was Saturday night and and I decided to make it work in case the restaurant was to get busy. Starters were fine although nothing special and a little cold. My son's food arrived in between our starters and mains which was great. Mains - there were 6 pieces of chicken in my Garlic Chilli Chicken which had been cooked separately and added in. This amounts to 1/2 a chicken breast. Sauce was not particularly tasty. My husbands lamb dish was overly salty and also contained 6 pieces of lamb. As we had been out all day, were starving, were eating with a toddler so it was now or never - we ate it. I mentioned my disappointment to the waiting staff away from the table. I was told that the portions we received were in fact what they give to a la carte customers. So £10.95+ for half a chicken breast and some sauce. I was told 6 or 7 pieces for a main or 4 for tapas. £45 down. Drove home and had chilli cheese toast for supper.
