    Highly recommend

Went last night for our wedding anniversary. First time for us and I was delighted. The place is laid out great, lovely ambience and staff are so friendly and helpful. I love Indian food and I was very impressed. Garlic nan was made to perfection. Can’t wait to go back.

    Excellent food and service!

As usual, the food was absolutely delicious and the service is second to none! We usually eat here before gigs at the Hydro but travelled out of way as we fancied a curry last night. The staff are always warm and welcoming as well as very attentive. Our waiter last night went out of his way to chat to us about desserts and had a bit of a laugh. Can't compliment the chef enough and the value for money is outstanding. Will see you again very soon! Recommend you to anyone who will listen :)

Welcoming West End Indian restaurant

Green Chilli Cafe on Argyle Street in Glasgow’s West End and close to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Serving Indian cuisine, the restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and a menu with curries that can be served as main courses or in tapas-style portions.

Traditional Indian cuisine served tapas-style

All food at Green Chilli Cafe is made to order, and the selection of wines available have been specially chosen to complement the Indian dishes available. Some ‘must try’ menu items include the chicken sharabi (hot and sour with tropical coconut, a dash of Chianti) along with the aloo and paneer bonda (Indian cottage cheese and mashed potato balls in pakora batter and served with spicy tomato chutney).

Many diners have praised the restaurant’s haggis fritters, with a few brave souls trying the tasty green chilli pakora – it is HOT and has brought tears to the eyes of a few overconfident curry fans. Alternatively, guests can stick to the more traditional options such as the creamy chicken korma (a Glasgow favourite); the desi lamb (traditional bhoona style lamb with added green chilli for a ‘kick’); or the daal tadka (yellow lentils tempered with cumin seeds, tomato & onions).

West End travel links & accessibility

Green Chilli Cafe is on Argyle Street a short distance from Kelvingrove Park, with bus stops nearby. The restaurant is child-friendly and a 10 minute stroll from both Kelvinhall Subway station and the popular Byres Road.
