The sister bar and restaurant to the Finsbay in Milngavie, the Finsbay Flatiron is a steak restaurant on Woodlands Road. It is a good looking space. By day, it is light and airy with stripped walls, pale wood and white, bright furniture. By night it has an inviting, warm glow. A couple of professional rugby players are involved in Finsbay Flatiron so you can always be sure that they will be showing the big games.
As the name suggests, Finsbay Flatiron specialises in flat iron steaks. And we mean specialise. Apart from a Sunday roast, it is the only main course on offer. Their beef is Scottish and sourced from local butchers. Served with a side salad and carved into slices, it makes for a simple but satisfying meal. Diners are welcome to add sauces such as Béarnaise or the house chipotle funk. There is also a range of side dishes which range from double dip hand-cut chips to mac ‘n’ cheese topped with pancetta. An ever changing selection of daily desserts rounds things off.
Finsbay Flatiron is on the corner of Woodlands Road and West End Park Street. Nearby attractions include Kelvingrove Park and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Both St George’s Cross and Kelvinbridge offer access to the subway network. There is limited on-street parking and pay parking at Kelvingrove subway station.
