    A jewel in India’s Crown

    A beautiful experience from start to finish. £11.95 pre theatre meal was spot on and amazing value for money. No skimping on portions- unlike other offer menus! Just tasty food throughout. It was a bit empty. Such a shame as the interior is so plush and inviting. More people need to go and support this great dining venue. Give it a try- you will not be disappointed!!

Divans Darbar is an authentic licensed Indian restaurant that prides itself on great service. The team’s vision is to offer up a distinctive dining experience featuring fresh and unique flavours. Diners can choose from a combination of classic curries, regional specialities and pan-Asian cuisine.

The menu at Divans Darbar is thoughtfully curated and substantial. It offers a host of flavour experiences from India and beyond, meaning you can either enjoy a traditional curry with naan and sides, or take your taste buds on an adventure instead.

Starters include pakoras, tandoori dishes and soups, as well as signature specialities like the Nepalese delicacy of steamed dumplings served with the restaurant’s own chutney.

Main courses include crowd pleasers such as bhoona, korma, chasni, rogan josh and vindaloo, all served with a choice of chicken breast, chicken tikka, lamb, king prawn, prawn, vegetables, paneer or tofu. Or you could branch out and try a chef’s special such as the Chicken Cafreal, a Goan-Portugese fusion dish with semi-gravy chicken, coriander, green chillies, ginger and garlic in aromatic Indian spices. Or what about a Himalayan hot pot cooked in Darbar’s special sauce?

Veggies are spoiled for choice too and can sample delicacies such as paneer in a creamy tomato sauce with mushrooms and garden peas, or tender okra cooked in rich onion & tomato masala.

If tandoori is your thing, then dig into flavoursome clay oven dishes like sizzling lamb chops, salmon tikka or ‘Kickass Chicken Kebab’ spiced with peri peri.

The restaurant is based on the burgeoning dining hub of Maryhill Road, about a 15-minute drive from Glasgow city centre. Ruchill Park and Golf Course are both close by, as are the tranquil Maryhill Locks. Maryhill train station is less than a 10-minute walk away.
